Robotic - Sept. 2017 Loot Crate and DX

by Wendy Purdy

What is a science fiction story without a robot/android or two....or million? The September Loot Crates paid homage to the exciting/terrifying world of artificial intelligence and the futuristic characters that embody this realm in some of our favorite stories.

July Loot Show with Holly

by Wendy Purdy

Holly decided to tackle three Loot Crate boxes at once: the July Loot DX, Loot Gaming and Marvel. Her new companion kept the scene a lot quieter than Holly's usual sidekick, but he managed to sneak in a few comments here and there. Themes for the boxes included animation, "booty" and Spiderman.

Road Rage and Champions Loot Gaming

by Wendy Purdy

The May and June Loot Gaming boxes featured items from some of our favorite games...but also some things from games we'd never even heard of before. Due to a manufacturing difficulty, the May box did not include the T-shirt. The folks at Loot Crate sent a message that it will be shipped separately when it becomes available.

Cosmic Party: Marvel Loot Crate

by Wendy Purdy

The latest Marvel box from Loot Crate included several items from Guardians of the Galaxy, which makes sense since that movie was released just a couple of weeks before this box arrived. However, one item, the Groot sunglasses, was absent due to production or shipping problems (I can't remember which). Anyway, Loot Crate promised to send that item separately when available.

Dark Arts: Wizarding World Loot Crate

by Wendy Purdy

Tom Riddle....Dolores Umbridge...Grindelwald....Azkaban Prison.....welcome to the "dark arts." The latest Wizarding World box from Loot Crate featured items from the "bad guys" in the Harry Potter universe. Of course, I claimed the interesting Azkaban zip clutch. I try to refrain from the urge to sneer when I pull it out to retrieve my various cards such. HA!!

Guardians: Loot Crate and DX for May 2017

by Wendy Purdy

Whether protecting galaxies, cities or neighborhoods, guardians usually face a tough task. Some find inspiration in a mixed tape of '70s/'80s hits, while others just "never say die." Some fly invisible jets, while others just ride their bikes. However, they all serve to protect the people and places they love.

Suit Up! Loot Gaming: April 2017

by Wendy Purdy

I don't know why they ask me to write the little blurb for the Loot Gaming boxes. I don't know anything about any of these games...unless they feature characters from properties I know from other media (movies, TV shows, etc.). The girls seemed rather excited about a couple of the items in this box, though.

Loot Gaming and Marvel Crate for March 2017

by Wendy Purdy

Taylor and Holly investigate the contents of two March offerings from Loot Crate: Loot Gaming and the Marvel Gears and Goods box. We weren't overly familiar with the properties in the Loot Gaming box, but the T-shirt was a welcome blast from the past. The Marvel box was "All Wolverine, All the Time."

Primal - Loot Crate and DX for March 2017

by Wendy Purdy

Taylor and Holly once again grab Stephen's Loot Crates. The "Primal" theme works well with the craziness that ensues in these videos. Since the themes were the same, I placed both openings into the same video. Taylor's imagination runs a little wild when thinking about how an older Wolverine would react to kids invading his yard.

Wild - February 2017 Loot Gaming

by Wendy Purdy

The whole Purdy clan really enjoyed the February Loot Gaming box...even though its delivery was delayed a bit. In fact, the girls loved it so much, that they both wanted to appear in the video. The box gave us a mix of new properties along with some old-school favorites. Just watch where you step!!

Origins - Jan. 2017 Loot Crate

by Wendy Purdy

Technically, the Loot Crate belongs to Stephen. However, he's been receiving it for so long now, we've all started claiming things when it arrives. Also, he tends to now delegate the video responsibilities to other members of the family. This month, Taylor and Holly do the honors....

Mad Science - Loot Gaming Jan. 2017

by Wendy Purdy

For some reason, Taylor took over responsibility as the "opener" of the Loot Crate Gaming box. I suppose she could be called the "apprentice gamer" in our family. I don't really know much about any of these games, except maybe a bit about Portal. (I know about the cake.) I do know when I walk into the media room and see her and her dad staring at the screens with their headphones on...I execute an about face and find something else to do. HA!!

A Matter of Time: Wizarding World Loot Crate/Jan. 2017

by Wendy Purdy

Time flies. Time marches on. Time keeps on slipping into the future. Oh yes..the Jan. Wizarding World box from Loot Crate reminded us that everything is "a matter of time." From magical objects to watches to a simple reminder not to be late for the train, this box reminds us that even wizards must show concern for the time.

Back-to-School Q Box

by Wendy Purdy

Whew!! The month of September presented a bevy of "busyness" to the PurdyCool gang, so I'm a little behind with blog posts. Even though this video features the August Q Box, I still wanted to post it, as some super silliness took place during the filming.

Gaming....no, Dr. Who...Fanspirations Box

by Wendy Purdy

Taylor recently received her final Fanspirations subscription box. She used some of her Christmas money to purchase a six-month subscription of the small-box offering. As you can see, she wasn't quite expecting the Dr. Who items in the box, as she had selected the "gaming" themed box for that month.

I would be remiss if I didn't add that, in all good conscience, I cannot recommend this subscription box. In the course of her six-month subscription, we experienced shipping and/or content problems for four of those months. I think the concept is good, but in our experience, the execution is lacking.

Molang Bunny - July 2016 Q Box

by Wendy Purdy

The girls' July Q Box featured a character new to our household: the Molang Bunny Rabbit. Of course, Taylor and Holly "hopped" right into the box with an opening song and dance number. They did manage to get a little carried away during this video, so I had to edit it for length. Trust me, you don't miss anything important.
